More About the Axis:
Axis deer are renowned for their stunning reddish-brown coats adorned with white spots, reminiscent of fawns. Their elegant, lyre-shaped antlers can reach an impressive 36 inches on trophy bucks. Hunters also appreciate Axis venison for its exceptionally lean meat, containing less than 0.2% fat.
A unique aspect of Axis deer is their year-round rutting season, allowing hunters to pursue both hard-horned and velvet-antlered bucks throughout the year.
Our South Texas location provides an ideal habitat for Axis deer, mirroring their native environment with its semi-arid climate and diverse vegetation. At Dulce Vida Ranch, we offer Axis deer hunts tailored to all skill levels, from first-time hunters to seasoned marksmen. Our expert guides continuously monitor the ranch, ensuring you have the best opportunity for a successful hunt, whether you prefer rifle or bow hunting.

What You Get
All-Inclusive Hunting Package
You may hunt using any method you prefer, including Spot and Stalk, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Pistol Hunting, Safari Style, or from a Blind. Our Packages Include:
3 days / 2 Nights Hunting Package: $1,650 + Trophy Fee
2 days / 1 Night Hunting Package: $950 + Trophy Fee
• Additional Nights of Lodging additional nights $600
• Non-Hunting Guests $450 / night
• Chef prepared meals
• All-Inclusive Beverages
• One-on-one Guide Service*
• Ranch Transportation to and from the field
• Trophy Care (field dressing, caping, quartering of meat, and storage in our onsite refrigerated cooler)
• Transportation for your Trophy to the Ranch’s local Taxidermist and/or to local meat processor. (Hunter makes all other arrangements with Taxidermist and meat processor.)
• Game Room, Trophy Bass and Crappie Fishing and other activities as time allows.
*Hunters are encouraged to tip the guides 10-15%. Bowhunters are encouraged to tip guides 20%.
What you Should Bring for Axis Hunting in Texas
Since Dulce Vida Ranch provides all you need for lodging, transportation, and food, you only have to worry about bringing the following:
- Appropriate clothing (please check weather conditions beforehand)
- Any personal items
- Meat transportation if you wish to take the meat home with you
- Your hunting rifle or bow of choice. Stone Creek Ranch also provides hunting rifles if you prefer.
